Ways To Support

Our volunteers show up and help our organisation in many ways. If you are interested in joining our team, together we will find a way your skills & capacity can support our mission.

Depending on your interests and experience, you can support BES in different ways:

  • Writing letters, reviewing planning proposals, or contributing your expertise on environmental science, community planning, or policy.

  • Represent BES at BSC Ward meetings, show community support at council meetings, helping draft submissions, or giving deputations.

  • Spreading the word and inspiring others to get involved.

  • Chatting with locals, collecting signatures, and sharing information.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Becoming A Volunteer

BES is also a place to learn, connect, and share knowledge. You can learn from long-standing members about:

  • local issues,

  • the environmental science behind them,

  • democratic processes and decision making in local government,

  • and gain confidence in public speaking, advocacy, and research.

For experienced volunteers, BES offers a chance to mentor others, share insights from your professional or community background, and help shape campaigns with your ideas.

We welcome everyone - whether you’d like to contribute a specific skill, join a project team, or simply suggest new ways to help.
